Originally from Evanston, Illinois, she graduated from DePaul University and performed all over Chicago, most notably at iO Chicago. After a whirlwind year in NYC she moved to Los Angeles, where she can be seen performing improv with Bangarang! and ASSSSCAT, both at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She is also a member of The Story Pirates, a nonprofit organization that creates interactive sketch shows inspired by stories written by kids.

Lauren is best known for her role as Dee Dee on NBC's "Are You There, Chelsea?" Her credits include "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where she appeared in a segment with Ryan Reynolds, "The Middle" on ABC, and HBO's "Life and Times of Tim". She will play a strong supporting role in "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner's upcoming feature debut "You Are Here," starring Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis. You can see her in a recurring role on Netflix's newest original program, "Orange is the New Black". 

She was featured in Back Stage's "10 Comics to Watch in 2012" and performed in the New Faces Characters Showcase in Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival.
